Some years ago, the Carlos Ayala family donated funds from their wedding gift to the Conservancy. It was an unexpected gift, but a wonderful, magnanimous gift, for sure. We wanted to commemorate the gesture, and did so by naming a bridge in their name. At the time, we posted the name of the Ayala Bridge on the Conservancy’s maps of the property.
The new “Ayala Bridge” not only provides critical east-west access in the Conservancy’s Central Basin Reserve Area, it will be even more important as the Conservancy moves to expand and enhance its marsh complex in the area. In addition to the bridge naming on Conservancy tract maps and related documents, we recently decided to commemorate the gift and bridge naming with an on-site recognition. See this on the photo attached to this entry. The Conservancy very much appreciates this kindness, and wishes the Ayala family the very best.
