Sutter County enjoys 7,467 Permitted Acres out of the 17,500-acre NBHCP “Permit Area.” Recently, the Parties to the NBHCP approved a revision to the NBHCP, which clarified exactly the boundaries of the Sutter County Permit Area. The Conservancy’s Board of Directors joined in with its approval at its recent Board meeting.
“This makes clear, with certainty, exactly where the Sutter County Permit Area lies,” noted John Roberts, Executive Director of the Conservancy. “All parties now have certainty as to where mitigation land could be realistically established and also, where urbanization can take place.” The result is a benefit to Sutter County, landowners in the area, and the Conservancy, which are now able to be precise with its delineation of the Sutter County Permit Area.
